4/16/07: Ice Softball Opener! OK, it was the first game of season, the one the boys have been itching for since, let's say DECEMBER!

In the dugout and the fanzone we were about an inch deep in mud...at least it was warm (enough). The fans found out there were no bathroom facilities at the new venue (grow bushes grow, we needs us some leaves to cover us up!!!) and the new red bat got dented into a paddle. Joe got nailed in the elbow while running to first while someone from the Chancery was trying to throw him out. It hurt him like a mofo after the game and word on the street is that he went for X-Rays. Be well Joe, be well.

Memorable plays for the night: All those fabulous homeruns!!! Jason, Deano, Kevin!!! Brian sliding into 2nd, Joe's safe on 1st despite the injury, Aaron's slide into 2nd and later he ROLLED in over home... geez!

Despite all the challenges the boys pulled one out! The game was called in the 7th because they were up by 15. The final was 23 to 8 and we couldn't have been happier! Afterward most of us celebrated the victory at Shepard's Hideaway (our Monday night sponsor).

The best bat of the night was the newbie Kevin, who would have thought a pitcher could bat????

4/23/07: Well it wasn't looking good even before the game started, we were short some players. When the boys took the field they watched Liquid Johnny's score 17 in the first inning. They came to play though and play they did, scoring 14 to make the final 14-24.

Memorable plays for the night: Liquid Johnny's shortstop got nailed in the shoulder with a ball (OUCH! He seemed OK though), Aaron scored two triples and a double, the sun in Dave's eyes and yet he caught that ball anyway, Tony's gimpy running on a broken toe, Brian making it to the game just in time.

We went to Shepard's Hideaway (our Monday night sponsor) afterward to lick our wounds, they tasted a lot like beer.
The best bat of the night was Aaron.
We welcomed a guest photographer, Tim from ZDShadow Photography. The difference between the cameras is amazing, come back later to see what he did!

4/30/07: Whoever thought losing could look so good? Click that video below to see what I mean! J&M Kids beat us, 9 -18 final. MAN!!! They had a LOT of kids (who seemed to want to be in a lot of my camera shots).
Memorable plays for the night: Not to dwell on Kevin, but he hit a home run. My favorite "Kevin Moment" of the night was when he asked the ref to brush off the plate and then after all the hubbub he said he'd forgotten the count. When the ref said he had two balls, Kevin said "Yeah I know!" and then he said now let's play or something. I laughed, I love dirty jokes!!! We've been looking for nicknames for the new guys for the Roster Page, at the moment I'm thinking ClownPants. Meet me in the forums to talk about it.
OH! And that single from Brian! He was SOOOO out, he was (it's in the videos) but the ref shouted SAFE!!! (this was before the balls joke). Sliders....Dave!!!! Jason!!!! And Jesse covered all the outs in the 6th inning, nice job out there Jess!

We went to Shepard's Hideaway (our Monday night sponsor) afterward, smart ass Corn remarked about us getting beat again. At least the beer was good. P.S. Someone tell Corn I'll link to his site if he lets me build him one!!!!! The best bat of the night was Kevin.

5/03/07: Our first game on the Thursday night league. It was cold but we won.

5/17/07: Another great Thursday night, what a fun game! It was a close one but Ice pulled it out again, protecting our undefeated record on Thursday night!
P.S. I know there's an error in the video.

5/24/07: It was a windy Thursday night with the threat of storms. Rollie's walked us 12 times!!!
Jason did some sliding to third, Brian left his butt print on home, Joe pulled something running out there to 2nd. He was in a lot of pain and sat out the rest of the game.
Despite all the rolling around out there, Ice scored 26 runs, held Rollie's at 6 runs and we remain undefeated!!

7/05/07: Another windy Thursday with a serious threat of rain. None the less we played, welcoming to the team three subs to make up for four missing players: Jason out for the season with a broken hand, Brian camping up north, Joe at Summerfest and I don't know what was up with Jim. Our subs, Jason who played with ICE two years ago, Paul and Rob* came to play and so it was GAME ON!
The opposing team....eh....their fans....not so much there to cheer on their team but rather to insult ICE so, well the gloves came off in the fan section. Yeah it was ON!! The man out at 3rd heard us yell, "YEAH!!!! Now come and sit down!!" the shortstop with the ball-less glove after the SportsCenter wanna be twist and catch.... "Wooo Whoooo YOU MISSED IT!!! Cockly little shit, aren't cha!"
Ya know we TRY to be nice...but...KAREN WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!?!
*Fans say recruit Rob for 2008!!
